Here are some of the ways that I plan to enhance the Temma driver, once the
registration threshold has been met.
- Park
- Temma mounts currently lack a park feature, making it hard to use them as
remote-controlled mounts. I plan to provide an emulated park feature that will
slew the mount to a predetermined user-defined position, then track at a rate
exactly equal and opposite to the normal sidereal rate. This will result in no
movement of the scope until the Unpark command is issued.
- Comet Tracking support
- The Temma firmware supports differential tracking that enables the mount
to track objects such as comets, asteroids and other objects that move at
non-sidereal rates. It is planned to support this in the ASCOM driver.
- ASCOM Telescope V2
- The draft Telescope V2 standard adds extra features, such as:
- pulse-guiding
- SideOfPier property that reports which side of the pier the mount is on
- AltAz slewing
- Support for variable guiding rates
