Digital DomeWorks Drivers

Software-y-Ddraig is very proud to have been selected by Technical Innovations to produce drivers for their Digital DomeWorks dome automation product. The drivers are open-source and there is developer documentation available for those who wish to understand the internals.

To stay informed about updates, bug fixes etc. for this driver bundle, please subscribe to the DDW Driver Newsletter. The amount of traffic will be minimal (probably less than one email per month on average).

ASCOM Dome V1 Driver

The ASCOM driver allows DDW to be controlled by an application that is compatible with the ASCOM Dome interface standard. For details of the interface and compatible applications, please see the ASCOM web site. The ASCOM Platform download includes an application for controlling a dome and slaving it to a telescope.

AutomaDome DomeAPI Plug-in

SyD has also produced a plug-in for AutomaDome that enables any ASCOM Dome driver to work with the Software Bisque product. So, using the ASCOM driver for DDW, the HomeDome and ProDome range can now be interfaced to AutomaDome.

Setup is a little tricky. Please see the setup instructions before trying to run this component.

System Requirements

The ASCOM Driver has the following system requirements:

• Windows 2000 or Windows XP
• Microsoft .net Framework 1.1
• Software-y-Ddraig ASCOM .net Development Framework (see Downloads page)

The AutomaDome plug-in requires that the ASCOM driver is installed.

Please note, older windows systems (e.g. 98, 98SE, ME) are NOT SUPPORTED and the driver will not install.
